Information for Buyers
Every sale is open for viewing prior to the auction and we reccommend that prospective buyers inspect the goods prior to bidding. Our staff can assist buyers with information on items being offered and advice on auction procedures. Viewing times for the weekly general auction are all day Tuesday and Wednesday 8am-5pm. Viewing times for onsite and specialist auctions will be posted on this site prior to the auction.
Buyers should carefully inspect items and satisfy themselves as to the condition of the lot as this may not necessarily be stated in the catalogue. All auction items are sold subject to the auction conditions which are displayed in the auction room or available in pdf form below.
All prospective buyers intending to bid must have a registered buyers number, available at the office. No bid will be accepted without a buyers number. Buyers will be required to register their name, address and contact phone number, with a $5.00 refundable deposit charged for each number. Permanent buyer numbers are available at the discretion of management.
Unless otherwise stated, a buyers premium of 16.5% (including gst) will apply to all auction purchases
Absentee and telephone bidding
Todds Auctions will execute bids on behalf of clients who are unable to attend the auction. There is no charge for this service. Lots will be purchased as reasonably as possible subject to other bids and reserve prices. In the event of identical bids being submitted, the first received bid will take precedence.
Absentee bids should be made on the Absentee Bid Form which is available at our office or to download in pdf format below. You can fill in and sign the absentee form stating lot numbers, item descriptions and maximum bidding price then return to us in person, by email or fax at least 1hr prior to the commencement of the auction.
A telephone bidding system is also available at Todds Auctions. A member of our staff will telephone you during the auction a few lots in advance to enable you to bid. Phone bids are only available on lots valued over $500. Please contact our office to arrange a phone bid.
